Order (2004-2006), a project made with a family member, an obsessive collector and reclusive individual. The work explores his engagement with the material world, through collections within his home, and his sensitivity to the ‘vital materiality of things’*, an antithetical approach to the buy-and-discard model of consumption that is the economic paradigm for today’s world. * From Jane Bennett’s Vital Materiality, in which the political theorist explores a transition from thinking about the human experience of things to the nature of the things themselves.
